Ringlet is a ring-holding Complien. It belongs to the Magic and Warp Elements. It grows into Ringmaster.

Appearance[]

Ringlet is a white Complien with a somewhat humanoid body, though it has very little definition between its head and body. Its face consists of two white eyes, a black nose, and a three-shaped mouth with a tongue sticking out. It has three spikes emerging from the top of its head, giving the impression of a hat, with white bobs at the end of each spike. A golden spade symbol is on this hat-like appendage between the eyes. Its arms are flexible, and have hands with three fingers and a thumb that it uses to hold a large red and white striped ring. On its feet, it wears red, rounded boots.

Information[]

Although their red coloration appears to make them an easy target in their grassland habitats, Ringlets are known for having an impressive amount of wit that allows them to easily outsmart and boggle most of their opponents. This is largely owed to the ring each Ringlet carries around, which allows Ringlets to perform bizarre illusionary effects in combat. The ring allows for short-distance teleportation, occasionally acts as a minor hammerspace, and can be used to perform a vast array of spells that a Ringlet may not be able to perform on its own. However, an energy appears to connect each Ringlet to its ring, as when utilized by any other Compliens, the ring fails to do much of anything.

For many centuries, Ringlets have allured and entertained Complinoids that watch them, and as a result, Ringlets are periodically trained to work in circuses. Ringlets are an intelligent Complien species, and can understand many of the commands they are asked of, but since they are known for their devious personalities, they oftentimes will resist being tamed, instead messing with whoever tries to take control of them.

A Ringlet that has mastered its skills usually grows into Ringmaster.

Habitat[]

Ringlets are found in grasslands in northern Comipea and eastern Eukiyfrenia, roughly having a regional spread consisting of nations between Oswaria and Russabelle.

Origin[]

Some insights on Ringlet's origins.

Name[]

Its name was taken from the word "ring" with the "-let" suffix added on to make it sound small. No relation to the hair terminology.

Design[]

Ringlet's design is given a circus aesthetic, to reflect its grown form's name, Ringmaster.

Trivia[]

  • Ringlet was drawn for Day 1 of Inktober 2019, which had the theme "Ring."
  • When being sketched, both curly-toed shoes and individual toes were considered for Ringlet's feet, though by the final design this was changed to rounded boots.
