Jellee is the Aspic Complien. It belongs to the Plain Element. It grows from Jel, and into Jelatnous.

Appearance[]

Jellee is a Complien with three red, smiling faces with closed eyes and cat-like mouths stacked on top of one another, only separated by their gelatanous membranes. The bottom membrane extends downwards to form a single foot, while the top head has a toothpick stuck in it with an olive emerging. Floating through the membranes, are small bits of foot for the three heads to eat.

Information[]

With its single head as a Jel now splitting into three, Jellee now has to absorb more resources to keep itself well-fed, as well as learning to distribute the food it absorbs more equally. Very often after growth, the structure of the Jellee will be a little lopsided, with the bottom head getting the most food and the top head getting the least. However, since all three Jellee heads are needed for the Complien's survival, generally, this balances out over time. That being said, this is not the only struggle a Jellee faces upon growth.

With its membrane torn open, Jellee is also the most vulnerable stage of its line, with its three heads open to attacks from other predators. Since Jellees often absorb nutrients from the soil they rest on, their heads often provide lots of energy to whichever Compliens are willing to eat them. This often means that Jellees are frequently predated, though, generally, their populations are large, preventing them from seeing any significant losses.

Habitat[]

Most commonly, Jellee is found in the swampy regions around Oclyfe's many lakes, as well as southern Complanet near Aclein and Flaura. However, since Jellee has seen wide spread across Complanet, it exists in some amount wherever water can be found.

Name[]

Jellee is a corruption of the word "jelly."

Design[]

Jellee is based on aspic, like the rest of its line, as well has having loose references to the appearance of ephyrae separating from their scyphistoma.

Trivia[]

  • Jellee was the last member of its line to be designed. Earlier concepts for its design looked closer to jellyfish, but were changed to bridge the gap to Jelatnous better.
