It is a gray lizard-like creature with a large, rocky shell growing from its back. It has a thin tail. It is roughly the size of a human hand.

Habitat[]
Crockels live on the coasts of Eukiyfrenia, preferring rocky areas with boulders or cliffs. They are tolerant of Eukiyfrenia's cold temperatures and live on both the northern and southern side of the continent.
In the day, they hide inside divots or underneath rocks. At night, they emerge to feed on algae and silicate-based minerals.
Biology[]
Crockels are reclusive creatures. They grow a hard, heavy shell that protects them from most predators. When threatened, they retract their head and limbs into the shell and wait for the threat to go away. They can also detach their tails as a distraction.
They consume discarded spines from Urchinees and Urtchivees that wash up onto Eukiyfrenia.
Behavior[]
They are nocturnal. In the summer, females lay a single fist-sized egg every few weeks, burying it in the gravel and leaving it to hatch by itself. Their eggs are covered by the same hard mineral that makes up their shells.
Quaguls usually pick up Crockels, fly several meters up, and drop them onto a boulder, cracking open their shells. Due to the Crockel's weight, two Quaguls must pick them up at the same time.

- Their tails store magnesium and potassium nitrate. When detached, they combust after a few seconds, creating a loud bang and scattering bits of tail in all directions, serving as an effective distraction.
